Food & Nutrition For Children At Hessle Pre-School

CATERING FOR ALL DIETARY NEEDS AND REQUIREMENTS

Hessle Pre School Nursery has a dedicated and highly experienced catering manager to ensure that children are properly fed with nutritious meals when they are with us.


We prepare all our meals daily on site using locally sourced produce following Government recommendations with regards to healthy eating. We change our menus regularly to provide new and exciting food for the children to try, while ensuring they are receiving all of the vitamins and minerals they require within their meals.

Curriculum

We offer a broad, balanced and purposeful curriculum specifically tailored to individual ages and stages, linked to the EYFS.

Funded Sessions

We provide educational funded places for 2, 3 and 4 year olds. We also accept childcare vouchers and tax free credit payments.

Hessle ACES Out Of School Clubs

Our out of school and holiday clubs provide before and after school and holiday childcare offering a wide range of activities.

CATERING

We cater for all dietary needs, including preparing food for children with food allergies. We have a rating of 5 for our food hygiene inspection rating.

 

All staff who prepare food at the setting hold the relevant Food Safety and Hygiene qualification. Children attending the nursery will receive a breakfast, a two-course mid-day meal, morning snacks and an afternoon snack tea. Water is freely available throughout the day. 


Meal times are a very important part of the Nursery day as well as providing nourishment. It is an important time to promote good table manners and personal and social skills.

COOKING ACTIVITIES

Along with the nutritious meals and snacks, the children also sample their home grown fruit and vegetables grown in the Little Shoots Gardening Club which they love as they can see how things grow from seedlings. We also carry out baking activities with the children which they love and they will often bring home their creations to share with you.
